Today was my father's flight to Bangladesh at 1:15 pm. As always we left home at 11:45 am only to be stopped at Belur Bazar due to Indian President Pratibha Patil's arrival at Belurmath. Hell broke on us and for a moment we thought aaj to chut gaye plane. Well, as everyone would do, we argued with the constables but to no avail. If anyways he leaves us on this crossing we would be stopped everywhere else, the same way from Belur to Airport as President's way was the same, from Airport to Belur. Uuff !!!
We turned around to find a taxi as we were not sure of the way from the other side. Dad got the taxi and the taxi-driver rushed him with all possible guts. Well, hell had to break and when man does it then even God is not there to help. Lol. He was late by 5 minuted.
He phoned us here at home and told us that all roads leading to Airport were literally blocked. So he had to go round and round and finally got to airport 5 minutes late. The GMG Airlines which is always late was on time this very day. Wow! what a piece of luck. President's arrival has put everything right on time. Surprise ! Surprise!.
Well, as for the trip. Now my dad has to pay 500/- extra for the next day ticket & 500/- for up-down from Belur-Airport-Liluah.
Now may I get a chance to ask the President or the government as to why a common person has to face so much of problems due to these high profile state visits. Who will compensate for our time, money and misses.
Thank God it was Sunday. If this would have been any weekday then the whole of Kolkata would have got stuck with people having to wait endlessly to go to or return from their offices. So many would have failed to keep their appointments and commitments.
As it is the President in Indian Constitution system plays no role in the day to day working of the country. Almost good for nothing the President is merely a person to waste and abuse the governmental machinery for his so many visits. Powerless and favoritism based Presidents have made a mockery of the whole system. Now Presidents are selected by the ruling party for its countless benefits which serve on their wish.
So, after all this can I ask all of you there weather India really needs a President? Is he/she really good for anything. Shouldn't President be a power to serve people and look for their well-being. Then why all this great Indian drama. No one is here to benefit from it. It is we all to loose whatever is left with us.
Its a request to the helpless and non-worthy President of India to please leave us to our own. Why do you have to come and just waste our day and normal daily routine? As it is the government is sucking blood from our bodies, at least you PLEASE leave us alone.
Please don't ever come again in our city or state. For you all the roads have to be closed for hours. Its better to sit in your grand place at Delhi than getting all abuses and curses from people who have and are suffering because of your VVVIP unimportant visits.
